Work has begun on the Rockville Centre Viaduct in the Town of Hempstead. A Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) enclosure has been installed ahead of substructure repairs to patch concrete along the viaduct and its columns and to prolong the life of the viaduct – its existing drainage system will also be repaired. Crews will work east within the Village of Rockville Centre and will try to minimize the impact of the project on commuters.
The rehabilitation of the viaduct will take approximately one year and is being undertaken in conjunction with the Lynbrook Viaduct Rehabilitation.
