Construction is underway at Murray Hill Station with the ongoing installation of new ADA-compliant elevators on the eastbound and westbound platforms. CCTV cameras and improved lighting and signage will also be installed, as will brick pavers and trees in the station plaza. The station’s electrical service will be updated, the staircases will be repaired, and the existing retaining walls will be painted. This $11.5 million project is expected to be completed by the middle of 2019.
The renovation of Murray Hill Station will make the station more convenient and more accessible for its approximately 1,200 daily customers. This project is part of an expansive LIRR modernization program to improve service and support the growth of Long Island.
