Construction continues at Wantagh Station, with Phase 1 scheduled for completion in October 2018. Machine room construction has begun, and escalator installation continues. Other ongoing work includes the connection of an automated snow and ice melt system (ASIMS), electrical and communications work and the abatement and painting of the Wantagh Avenue Bridge. The center canopy sections for the western end platform have been delivered to the station, while the remaining precast panel fabrication continues off-site.
