The Rosedale substation, located at intersection of 137th Road and Fulton Place east of Rosedale Station, will be replaced as part of the LIRR Modernization Program. Substations are integral components of the rail infrastructure system that provide power to the trains and will ultimately support future growth of the LIRR. The substation replacement is anticipated to be completed in 2021. The Rosedale substation replacement is part of a larger initiative to enhance service reliability and support system expansion throughout the LIRR, and ultimately support the growth and development of Long Island.
