Project Overview

The restored Stony Brook Station building is now open.

Stony Brook Station, on the Port Jefferson Branch, serves approximately 2,330 customers each weekday. Station improvements include an update of the building interior and its exterior and the addition of customer amenities including USB charging stations, improved wayfinding signage, information displays, new benches and free public Wi-Fi. New lighting and CCTV security cameras have been installed in shelter sheds on the platforms, and the sidewalk outside the station has been upgraded.

The LIRR has provided these enhancements to Stony Brook Station as part of an expansive program of station and infrastructure improvements to support the economic development of Long Island.
