Stony Brook Station on the Port Jefferson Branch serves approximately 2,330 customers each weekday. Station improvements are currently underway, with a target completion date of the end of 2018. These improvements include an update of the building interior and its exterior and the addition of customer amenities such as a charging station, improved wayfinding signage, information displays and Wi-Fi. New lighting and CCTV security cameras are being installed on the platforms. The sidewalk outside the station is being upgraded, and a new sculpture is being installed in the plaza.
