A Token of Thanks: Handwritten Notes Sent to LIRR Expansion Project Team from Girls, Inc. of Long Island

The LIRR Expansion Project team was delighted to receive personalized thank you notes from the stellar students of Girls Inc. of Long Island. In May, 27 young women from Westbury Middle School participated in the day’s activities at the project’s Community Information Center in Mineola.

The students learned about the project, took a tour of the Community Information Center, tested out the principles of friction in a hands-on engineering science experiment, and participated in a speed mentoring session with project professionals and railroad experts.
