As part of the Double Track Project, the Wyandanch station has been in the midst of significant improvements from the construction of new platforms, pedestrian overpass with elevators, new canopies and other amenities.
The busiest station on Long Island is undergoing major renovations. Among the many exterior renovations, the new communications, lighting, and audio system installation has commenced.
Enhancements to the Port Jefferson Station are underway, and the interior lighting has been updated. A sequence of improvements are planned in the next upcoming weeks as part of a broader MTA LIRR initiative to support the growth and development of Long Island.
The MTA LIRR has completed the installation of 64 exterior USB charging ports and 24 interior USB charging ports in the waiting room of the East Hampton station. All 86 USB charging ports are fully functional and operating.
Construction is underway for the Stewart Manor station enhancements such as rehabilitated sidewalks, ramps, and shelter shed improvements. Rehabilitating the space around the stations is a priority for MTA LIRR and important to accommodate future increases in ridership.
