Project Overview

Baldwin Station, on the Babylon Branch, serves approximately 7,000 riders per day. The station has received enhancements and upgrades including new LED lighting, USB charging ports, free public Wi-Fi, interactive digital kiosks and related improvements. The project was completed in June 2019.

A USB charging station is now available in the ticket office waiting room, and two new LED information screens have been placed on either side of the ticket window to provide schedules and updates to LIRR customers. There are two new USB charging stations in the platform waiting room, and bicycle racks have been installed in the plaza. Benches, salt boxes and trash receptacles have been installed, the platform has been sealed, new tactile strips have been installed and information totems at each entrance to the station building are operational.

These enhancements and improvements are part of a broader LIRR initiative to enrich the customer experience and to support the economic development of Long Island and the region.
